Of all the resort towns in Mexico, “PV” as it is referred to, possesses a world class collection of global artisans ranging from primitive archetypes to large abstract canvas painted in the Latin minimalist style. Impressionistic and photo realistic portraits of the indigenous peoples of the area abound as well. This all comes as no surprise for a once small fishing village that boasts a wonderful array of oversized mythical bronzes along it’s famed boardwalk, the Malecon.
High season, from November through April, is highlighted by the weekly Wednesday Night Art Walk, that finds the galleries open into the evening often offering wines for the strolling throngs of art lovers.
